A Dark December Day

share post

Light refused to show itself to the city. Buildings attempted to make their own but soon were snuffed out by the woolen winds shaking snow onto the streets. Coffee houses filled with people settling into the sweetness of lattes and a coziness responding to the dreary world outside. As shadows pressed in, secrets of a hopeful afternoon spilled into the hearts of the city’s inhabitants. The sky could break apart any time now, and a gleam may glide through the windows to loosen their laughter from their tongues. The darkness may have taken hold, but it couldn’t shade away the smiles that bloomed deep in the snowy caves of souls.
