The Unnamed Ache

share post

We have an ache we don’t know how to name.

It pulses within, like a burl buried in the core of a tree.

We notice, but we do not feel. We fill the ache with what does not satisfy, all distraction and fluff.

We do not know how to be satisfied so we sit silent, empty.

The ache persists.

It cannot be pushed away or buried. It has been there since the beginning, unfamiliar, yet a longing that looks like home.

What will we find if we opened the door to this ache? What hole will we discover, what treasure?

Do not ignore this ache, this call. Discovery comes when we put a name to the unknown, reveals what has been inviting us all this time to come closer.
