I’ve been there. It isn’t fun. And I wish you could be spared from those dark nights and bare seasons. But I bet you have been there too.
It isn’t easy. The overwhelm threatens to choke us out of our faith and feed us lies that seem awfully like truth. We veer off the clear path and are put in the middle of thistles and wildwoods, searching for the trail, but with no way out.
As inside-out as it seems, sometimes it’s the hardest roads that lead us home. Home to the heart of God, who’s navigating our steps and protecting our hearts, even while we’re hurting.
It’s the pilgrimage of purification, of shedding old skin and fashioning a new way of faith.
I’ve wandered, and I’ve waited, and I’ve watched for God at work. And then I wrote about it.
All the Hard Things was born from those in-between days — the ones where I wasn’t sure I’d make it, but where God met me anyway. Despite my fragile faith. Despite my doubt. And deep in my pain. These words aren’t polished answers; they’re prayers whispered in the dark and found faithful at dawn. Even when the darkness covered most of the day, God’s promises gave me just enough light to find my way back.
If you’ve been wandering through your own valley, I’d love to walk beside you.
Pre-order All the Hard Things and take the first step toward hope that still holds.

It would be an honor to journey with you.
Question to Consider: Where is one place you can look to see God’s grace leading you through your hard journey?
Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to hear.
A Prayer for the Hard Way Home: Father, this doesn’t feel good. I’ feel like I’ve lost my way, and I’m just tired. Would You come near, would You hold me close, and give me light enough to see the next step. I trust You are leading me home. In Jesus’ name, amen.
