| From Isaiah 61:1-4 |
When our hearts hang heavy,
You promise You will lighten the load.
When ashes cover our heads,
You promise beauty and splendor instead.
Ruined cities will be renewed,
ancient ruins rebuilt.
You who never takes Your eyes
off Your people,
see us today, where we shuffle through
our own ruins.
You promise to renew and restore,
to fortify our crumbling hearts.
Come and rebuild, soothe and renew us.
We will not stay in shambles forever,
for You are already rolling up
Your sleeves to get to work.
