Worth Rejoicing | The Resurrection
Read: 1 Peter 1:3-9
Key Verse:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
-1 Peter 1:3
In the early morning hours, an empty tomb.
Burial garments folded and set aside. A Messiah mistaken for a gardener, until a voice spoke a name that knew its home. A heartbeat, a breath restored, a remarkable feat of death defeated. The risen Lord, back from the grave and bringing us eternal life!
What joy, what a gift! This is the life we have when we place our trust in Jesus Christ, the One who conquered sin and set us free from the jaws of death. We have a living Lord who went to the depths and returned victorious. And abundant and eternal life is what He offers, giving us an inheritance that will never spoil or fade. This is worth rejoicing in.
Glory to God for the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus! He has brought us good news that doesn’t grow old, and we have this living life inside us all the time. We do not live like those who have no hope; we have the most glorious hope and joy because we have the secure promise of life forever in the presence of God. This is worth celebrating, this is worth living for. We live in grace through Jesus, and keep our eyes on what is coming, the day when we will be in the presence of God and enter into His gates by the saving work and blood of Jesus. What a comforting thought; what confidence to hold to!
We rejoice in what was done while looking ahead for what will be—hallelujah!

Lord, thank You for making a way to be with You forever! Jesus conquered the grave and set me free so I can live in confidence today while looking forward to when I will be with You forever. I praise You for this! Amen.
