Blessed are you when the burden is lifted, when the chains fall from your limbs and lightness fills your heart. When grace reveals itself and your desire finds a home, safe and satisfied.
Blessed are you who seek justice and mercy, standing in the gap for those whose voices are not heard. Whose arms extend to welcome the foreigner, the shivering one standing in the cold.
Blessed are you who yearn for the Lord, hearts unfurled and ready, eyes scanning the faint horizon for Him who tucked Himself in you and longs to be together again.
Blessed are you whose tears fall like rain, course down your face and water the soil of your soul, a long wait through seasons for spring to come again.
Blessed are you who serve with no other intention, whose faith is honest and love is simple.
Blessed are you whom the Lord sees, loves, and comes close. The ones He pulls to His chest and tells your weary spirit, “Peace, be still.”
Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said,
“God blesses you who are poor,
for the Kingdom of God is yours.
God blesses you who are hungry now,
for you will be satisfied.
God blesses you who weep now,
for in due time you will laugh.
What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. – Luke 6:20-22 NLT
