The Way

“I am the way and the truth and the life.”  -John 14:6

Lord,
I feel like I have lost my way
many times.
Like I have lost my bearings,
mind turned inside out,
upside down,
and shaken on repeat.

Sometimes, I am not sure
I will ever find my way out.

But You say You are the way,
and You do not move or change.
You are the way –
how do I remember
when my fear kicks in
and I do not know
what is true?

You are the way.
You make and guard the way,
and if I am Yours,
You have shown me the path of life
and set my feet on steady ground.
Even if I wander, I am never far
from Your careful eyes,
attentive and alert.

When I roam, I am never
Without You.

Oh Lord,
I get so scared
that I will stay scrambled
and drifting, but
You promise rescue.
Your presence, Your way
guiding me through,
guarding me.

When I wander,
You hold me,
You watch me.
You guarantee my way.
