I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.
-Psalm 27:13-14
I have waited quietly for the salvation of the Lord, for His goodness in the dark, His saving hand upon my heart.
Surely I can be confident that He will be faithful to His Word, His promises stay to a thousand generations.
My God has been good to me, in the places where it has not felt good. But His presence was ever before me, leading me, walking with me, assuring me even when I couldn’t see.
The goodness of the Lord in the land of the living is a gift given a hundred times over, and the awe with which it is received never diminishes.
Immanuel, God with me in the miracle moments that make me hold to Him even more. Certainly, I have pulled up my strength to wait and trust and see the God who sees me through. And He has seen me through, through the fire and the rising waters, through the fear and fog. The Lord is gracious, even when it seems upside-down. But His Kingdom is here, already at work, at work in me.
I remain confident that He does appear, bend close to build me up in my weakness and stretch my faith, my love for Him.
Yes, the Lord has been good, has been my salvation, my strength. This is His promise for now, for ever.
