Untamed Exploration

share post

There are times I feel my world

is pushing into me,

enclosing the open range

of my heart,

the neighboring field festering

with buildings,

tearing out the wild grass,

pinching me with its brick and mortar.

God of the expanse of sky

that stretches on,

release the reigns of my heart

so I may run wild and free,

fully alive, fully open.

May my only enclosure be

Your careful hands brushing

me down at the end of the day,

where I come home panting,

giddy, trembling from the miles

I’ve covered and beauty

of discovering more of You,

the untamed exploration

of learning more of

who I am.
